What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a pioneer and a market leader in provision of short term orthodontics. Invisalign is to Orthodontics what Tesla is to cars! It has brought about changes in orthodontic treatment provision to the advantage of patients in making it more accessible, user friendly and cosmetic. Invisalign uses clear 3D printed aligners to gently move your teeth into the desired position giving you straighter teeth which are more even when you smile.

We generally offer Invisalign to adults and also children over the age of 16 who have been refused treatment provision on the NHS and who fit the criteria for Invisalign treatment. The duration of treatment we provide usually does not exceed 9 months (in only one prescribed course and treatment follows the desired path and no additional aligners are needed).

Stages to Invisalign Treatment

Stage 1

Photographic Pre-Approval: in your first assessment appointment , we take a set of 12 photos of your teeth and face and send across to Invisalign for a direct approval. We receive usually receive results within a few minutes that traffic light your treatment into red, yellow or green. For red and yellow cases we recommend the next stage.

Stage 2

Impressions: Once you have been preapproved by Invisalign we take detailed impressions of your teeth and send these across to Invisalign who then devise a precise treatment plan customised to your jaws and teeth. This generates a 3D image that can be viewed as a Clincheck.

Stage 3

Clincheck and Consent: Around 2 weeks after your impressions we invite you back in to view your Clincheck that shows you the end result that is ideally obtainable. Final results can vary in individual cases and circumstances but if treatment compliance is followed Clinchecks do offer a reasonable level of predictability. At the end of this appointment once you have read through consent and agreed to the treatment requirements, compliance and costs – we order in your full set of sequenced Invisalign retainers – simply at the press of a button!

Stage 4

2 weeks after Clincheck:We book you in an hour to begin your treatment and deliver your first set of Invisalign retainers!

Further Stages: Based on the number aligners, you will usually attend appointments every 4 weeks to monitor progress.

PLEASE NOTE: Invisalign ONLY alters the arrangement of your teeth and does not alter the shape. If this is required, please speak to Dr Verma who can then sequence other treatments such as composite bonding and teeth whitening as required.
